If you’re replacing your roof, you should also replace or top up your attic insulation at the same time. Doing both at the same time will save you money, time and be much more convenient for you.

Extra Convenient

Instead of having all the insulation equipment, hoses and step ladders brought through your home, everything is done from the roof. This minimizes the mess and any potential damage to flooring. For the majority of attics removing a sheet of plywood from the roof is all that’s needed to gain sufficient entry into the attic. Additionally, some homes have crevices (homes with dormers) that that only let you access the attic through the roof.

In the winter months many homes, especially older ones, suffer from significant heat loss due to a combination of lack of air flow and insulation. The current code as set by the Ontario Building Code (SB-12) is R50 which equates to a total of 18.5″ of blown-in insulation. Proper Airflow

Often times, batt insulation (oversized solid pieces) is stuffed into the soffit vent area, significantly reducing the ability for air to travel through which can cause a roof to deteriorate far quicker than expected. If your insulation is getting done, in most cases, we can remove that insulation and install baffles which are Styrofoam inserts.
